Kristi Renee Castillo

Kristi Renee Castillo is the chief district court judge for the 60th District Court, which presides over Cumberland and Monroe counties in Kentucky.[1] She was appointed to the court by Governor Steve Beshear on September 11, 2009, to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Judge Steve D. Hurt.[2]
Castillo was elected to the court in 2010 and 2014.[3] Her four-year term expired on January 6, 2019.[4]

General: She defeated Stephen H. Poindexter in the general election on November 4, 2014, receiving 69.9 percent of the vote.

Castillo was re-elected to the 60th District Court. She defeated challenger Stephen H. Poindexter with 58.98% of the vote on November 2, 2010.[6][7]

Education
Castillo received her undergraduate degree from Western Kentucky University and her J.D. degree from the University of Louisville School of Law.[2]
Career
Before her appointment to the court in 2009, Castillo worked as an attorney in private practice. She also previously served as an assistant attorney for Cumberland County.[2]
