Lawrence V. Cullen
Lawrence V. Cullen was a judge of the New York Court of Claims and an acting justice of the Supreme Court 11th Judicial District, Civil Term, in Queens County, New York. He was appointed to the Court of Claims by former Governor George Pataki in 2006 to a term expiring 2013.[1] In the general election on November 6, 2012, he was elected to a term on the Supreme Court 11th Judicial District in Queens. However, on November 25, 2012, at the age of 64, Cullen passed away after a battle with cancer.[2]
Education
Cullen graduated from the City University of New York Law School. He was admitted to the Bar in 1991.[1]
Career
Cullen was appointed an interim justice of the Supreme Court of New York County in 2005. A year later, he was appointed Court of Claims Judge and Acting Supreme Court Justice.[1]
Elections
2012
Cullen successfully ran for a seat on the 11th District Supreme Court.[2] He was one of five candidates competing for three seats in the general election on November 6, 2012, and he ran on the Democratic Party tickets.[3]
