Lee H. Elkins
Lee H. Elkins was a judge for the Kings County Family Court in New York. He was appointed to this position in 1995 and was reappointed in 2005. He retired in 2012.[1]
Education
Elkins received his B.A. degree from St. John's College in 1973 and his J.D. degree from the Boston University Law School in 1976.[1]
Career
Elkins began his career in 1977 as a staff attorney for the Legal Aid Society, Criminal Defense Division. The following year, he became a law secretary for Judge Harold Rothwax of the New York City Criminal Court. He then worked briefly in 1979 as a Special Assistant Attorney in the Office of the Special Prosecutor before returning to the Legal Aid Society, Criminal Defense Division as a staff attorney. He then worked as a law secretary for Judge Harold Rothwax of the New York Court of Claims from 1981 to 1995, when he was appointed to the New York City Criminal Court. Later that year, he was appointed to the Family Court bench.[1]
