|I have strong convictions about good governance, civil rights, environmental protection, and ensuring access to education, healthcare, and economic opportunities for everyone. I believe there is far more that unites us than separates us. When I hear the real concerns of citizens they are not ideological - they are practical issues that can be solved through good faith cooperation.
My studies in geology built upon one of my core values that we have a responsibility to preserve a diverse world for our children and grandchildren to cherish long after we are gone. As an educational consultant, I’ve witnessed the power of education to transform lives. As a poll worker, I ensure that every eligible voter has access to their right to vote. On the Oconee Rivers Greenway Commission, I advocate for the protection of public lands and the conservation of natural resources.
- The John Lewis Voting Rights Act is a high priority along with good governance policies like campaign finance reform and ethics rules preventing insider trading among elected officials. Our democratic republic thrives on full participation and equal justice.
- Improving access to healthcare is important to me, especially for mental health, women’s health, and bodily autonomy. Many rural counties don’t have access to basic health services and residents have to drive several hours to a hospital.
- Rural economic development and innovation through small business accelerators, and adult education for careers in the emerging renewable energy industry for a sustainable future. Raising the minimum wage and expanding the USDA first-time homeowner’s program.
First and foremost, elected officials must strive to make sure our political, legal, and economic system works for everyone. I aim to establish a fresh and forward-thinking approach to governance. I embody the rural progressive values necessary for effective leadership in the 21st century, striving for a future that reflects the aspirations of our diverse and dynamic constituency.
Being adaptive and responsive to changing conditions are critical skills in these complex times. Representatives must have an unwavering commitment to fairness, due process, and ensuring that government functions for everyone regardless of their background. The US Congress is the world’s greatest deliberative body, making collaboration a core competency as lawmakers to produce laws that impact everyone.

Rural Economic Development Fighting For Equitable and Sustainable Prosperity For All Lexy believes in pursuing policies that really help uplift rural areas: prioritizing education, job training, small business development, fair wages, and attracting private and public investment in innovative energy solutions. Lexy will work with every level of the federal, state, and local governments of District 10 to ensure that the people who live here - not just the corporations who profit here- benefit from significant national investment. Health Care The System Our Tax Dollars Paid For Should Work For All of Us Lexy watched her mom lose her healthcare along with her small business following the 2008 stock market crash, and she understands what quality healthcare can mean for all Georgians, especially our aging population. Congress can push Georgia to expanding Medicaid, if we have elected officials who will work for it. Body Autonomy & Privacy Abortion is a Question of Freedom A person’s medical history and the decisions they make about their own healthcare should be entirely their own business. If elected, Lexy will fight to codify the right to privacy that had been upheld for so long under Roe v. Wade. Anti-abortion zealots like Mike Collins have made Georgia’s 10th District a more dangerous place for all women. There are 8 counties in District 10 that do not have a single OB/GYN practicing medicine, and District 10 residents have to drive on average 25 miles to access a birthing hospital. Georgia’s maternal mortality rates are some of the worst in the country, especially for Black women, and we know that anti-abortion policies are directly related to the unavailability of maternal healthcare. Good Governance Bring Back Trust and Fair Representation Lexy became a poll worker because of her commitment to protecting our democracy. The most sacred opportunity we have in this country is the right to vote, and have your vote count the same as anyone else’s. We know these rights are constantly under attack. Lexy will join the fight to pass the John Lewis Voting Rights Act. At the same time, she believes Congress must also take action to increase transparency and will work with anyone to pass campaign finance reform and ban Congressional insider trading. Protect Natural Resources We Can't Afford To Ignore Climate Change Oil and gas companies have spent decades lining their pockets while the rest of us pay for the growing destruction climate change is causing. Lexy knows that alternative energy solutions aren’t just good for the environment - they are good for business, especially in the rural South. [2] |
