I was a project manager at Hewlett Packard for many years, focusing on data management and analysis, working with “big data.” I have a long history of being assigned to contracts with the express purpose of increasing efficiency and project flow and I apply that skillset to everyday issues as well as large events. I understand the leadership it takes to run a successful team.

I am a commissioner on the inaugural Colorado Independent Congressional Redistricting Commission, which passed its congressional map by the Colorado Supreme Court with no issues. I voted for the map that was passed eleven to one, garnering support from Democrats, Republicans, and Unaffiliated alike.

My political background includes working for Misty Plowright’s CD5 Campaign in 2016. I was the Democratic candidate for El Paso County Clerk and Recorder in 2018. I continue to volunteer for the El Paso County Democratic Party, where I have been the Chair of the Permanent Organization Committee for the last five years. The Permanent Organization organizes and facilitates the Assembly and Convention.

My rambunctious toddler is my pride and joy. I spend as much free time as possible with him. I have been with my wife for fifteen years and am happy as the head of a unique Colorado family.

  • Many of us on both political sides feel like the elections and our very democracy is under attack. I have been able to form relationships with republicans and democrats alike because at the end of the day we all just want to be able to see and trust the process and be sure it is working the way it was intended. I feel I am a good Civil Servant, a good listener, and could help folks trust the process by getting them more involved.
  • My top three goals of this office are to redistrict within the State guidelines to ensure everyone in El Paso County is represented, secondly to update and implement more automation to reduce the workload of staff and give the customer more options, and finally I’d like to get more of the community involved in the election watch program so that the department can earn back the trust of the community.
  • We need to fund ballot boxes within walking distances of bus stops and neighborhoods. Second, we should upgrade and optimize our systems for greater efficiency of both our staff and customers' experience. Finally, I would work hard on outreach and education, to restore faith in the system as well as reach out to people who think their voices don't matter and so don't vote. Running for Clerk allowed me to see how many of our residents are not registered to participate in our democracy and I would like to help increase our voter rolls with our constituents.
As part of the inaugural Colorado Independent Congressional Redistricting Commission, I was ecstatic to be a commissioner who put Amendment Y into practice. I encouraged the commission to surpass their requirements for public outreach and increase the number of public hearings and time to leave public comment. House Bill 1073 was inspired by Amendments Y and Z, and it shifts much of the process followed by our commission to the redistricting of the larger County Commissioner districts, which will be facilitated by the County Clerk and Recorder. I look forward to serving the community and implementing these changes at our county level.
My mom is someone I look up to. She's been through so much and is innocent and trusting, always believing the best about people.
A civil servant or leader should be transparent, accessible, and impartial.
I am fair, reasonable, transparent, kind, caring, open to others, and truly like organization and record keeping.
I believe that integrity of this office is more important than who wins, and that the knowledge that the vote is accurate and secure is more important than any party winning over another.

My first memory of an historical event was sitting in Elementary school watching the Challenger lift off. We watched with thousands of other students live as it exploded.
My first job was at Petsmart for 3+ years.
The Hunger Games collection, because it's about the government being morally corrupt and needing to be overthrown and the people come together to fight and win.

Sexism, I have often been underestimated because of my gender.
