Restoring cuts
During the last six years of my tenure on the Board, many cuts to staff and programs have been made. Because of the successful relationships developed with staff and stakeholders, TUSD has come out of the "Great Recession" stronger than most districts in California. It is now time to rebuild those programs that had to be cut. With input from all staff, parents, and stakeholders, I believe I can help TUSD rebuild for the future. It is vital that we take this opportunity to look toward the future and meet the needs of the students not only of today, but of our city's future. My experience in the classroom, as an administrator responsible for the maintenance of a district, and my experience as a board member during the most difficult times in California's fiscal history, will help me to aid in the building of TUSD's future. |
