Maryland Elections of County Officials, Question 3 (1986)

The Maryland Elections of County Officials Amendment, also known as Question 3, was on the November 4, 1986 ballot in Maryland as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment, where it was approved. The measure repealed the requirement that county commissioners and county council members be elected at-large by the entire county. The measure permitted county commissioners and council members to be elected by districts, the entire county, or a combination of these methods. The measure also provided for transitional provisions and repealed obsolete language.[1]
