Megan Tallmer was an acting justice of the Bronx County Supreme Court, Criminal Term in the 12th Judicial District of New York. She was appointed to this position in 2004. She joined the New York City Criminal Court in 1995 and her term expired in 2014.[1][2]

Education

Tallmer received her undergraduate degree from Vassar College in 1973 and his J.D. degree from the Cornell School of Law in 1976.[1]

Career

Tallmer began her career in 1976 as an associate of the law firm Botein, Hays, Sklar & Herzberg. She then worked as a staff attorney for the Legal Aid Society's Criminal Appeals Bureau from 1980 to 1983 and as deputy counsel to the Office of Court Administration from 1983 to 1990.

Tallmer began her judicial career in 1990 as an interim judge of the New York City Civil Court. She worked in this capacity until 1993 and was appointed a judge of the New York City Criminal Court in 1995. She was reappointed to this court in 2005. She also served as an acting supreme court justice (Bronx County) from 2000 to 2002 and as a Queens County Family Court judge in 2003. In 2004, she was reappointed an acting justice of the Bronx County Supreme Court.[1]
