Michael L. Burkett was a judge on the Fremont Municipal Court in Sandusky County, Ohio. He was appointed to the court by former Governor Dick Celeste and was sworn-in on January 11, 1991. Burkett retired from the court on December 31, 2011, after serving on the court for twenty-one years.

Burkett received his undergraduate degree from Bowling Green State University and his J.D. from the University of Toledo College of Law in 1974.
