Monica Rice-Smith was a candidate for the 41st Circuit Family Court, which presides over Clay, Jackson and Leslie counties in Kentucky. Rice-Smith ran in the primary election on May 17, 2016, but withdrew from the race on October 6, 2016.[1]

Kentucky held nonpartisan elections for local judicial offices on November 8, 2016. A primary election took place on May 17, 2016. The filing deadline for candidates who wished to run in this election was January 26, 2016.[3] Incumbent Clint Harris and Monica Rice-Smith defeated Kenneth Stepp in the Kentucky 41st Circuit Family Court primary election. Rice-Smith withdrew from the race on October 6, 2016.
