Montana Limit State Spending, CI-7 (1976)

The Montana Limit State Spending Amendment, also known as CI-7, was on the November 2, 1976 ballot in Montana as an initiated constitutional amendment, where it was defeated. The measure would have limited state spending to $375 million for every two years until 1983. The measure also would have reduced the amount of federal funds that state could accept by 15 percent a year until 1984.[1][2]
