Nancy Chapman McLin
Nancy Chapman McLin was a family court judge for the First Judicial Circuit in South Carolina. The First Judicial Circuit has jurisdiction in Calhoun, Dorchester, and Orangeburg counties.[1] She was elected to the court by the South Carolina General Assembly on May 6, 1998. She was re-elected in 2016 and retired on June 4, 2022.[2][3]
Education
McLin received her undergraduate degree in business administration from the University of South Carolina in 1985 and her J.D. from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 1988.[2]
Career
McLin began her career serving as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable William T. Howell, a circuit court judge, from 1988 to 1990. She then practiced law with the firm of Goodstein & Goodstein, P.A. until her election to the court in May 1998.[2]
