Nebraska Legislative Term Limits, Salaries and Sessions, Amendment 1 (1884)

The Nebraska Legislative Term Limits, Salaries and Sessions Amendment, also known as Amendment 1, was on the ballot in Nebraska on November 4, 1884, as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. It was defeated. The measure would have provided that state legislators have term limits of two years, salaries of $300 and that legislative sessions last no more than 60 days.[1]

Note: Although this measure gathered more "yes" votes, a majority of the total 133,555 votes in the entire election (66,778 votes) were needed for the measure to be approved.
