The New York State Debt for the Environment, Proposition 1, also known as Proposition 1, was on the ballot in New York on November 7, 1972, as a legislatively referred bond question. It was approved. This proposition allowed for $1.5 billion in state debt for the preservation and improvement of the environment.[1]
