Ballot title
The ballot title for Measure Nos. 308-309 was as follows:
“ | SLOT MACHINES SEIZURE BY SHERIFFS AND DESTRUCTION ON COURT ORDER - Purpose: Prohibiting possession, operation, control of operation or play of nickel-in-the-slot machines or other devices of like character which may vend or pay money, merchandise or other representative of value or evidence of winning, depending upon chance, at occasional or uncertain intervals or in varying quantities; imposing an additional penalty for violation by declaring such machines nuisances and requiring the sheriff to summarily seize any such machine possessed in violation of this act and hold same subject to court’s order; the court finding such machine involved in violation of this act shall adjudge thereof and order its destruction by sheriff. | ” |
