There was a PROPOSITION NO. 1 on the November 4, 2008 ballot in Tulsa County for voters in the city of Tulsa.

This proposition passed with 96,392 votes in favor of it.[1]

Text of measure

(3rd Penny Extension and Temporary Sales Tax)

Shall Ordinance No. 21879 of the City of Tulsa which extends the temporary sales tax levy of one percent (1%)beginning August 1, 2006, and ending June 30, 2014; and temporarily increases the sales tax levy from three percent (3%) to three and two-twelfths percent (3 2/12%) beginning October 1, 2011, and ending June 30, 2014, on the gross receipts or proceeds on certain sales as therein defined and which provides the revenues of the tax are to be used to make capital improvements to and paying the costs and expenses of operation and maintenance relating to the repair, construction, and reconstruction of streets, bridges, and related infrastructure of the City and making other capital improvements of the City of Tulsa be approved?[2][3]
