Perla Alarcon-Flory is an at-large representative on the Sioux City Community School District school board in Iowa. Alarcon-Flory was initially appointed to the position in 2013. First elected in 2014, Alarcon-Flory won a new term in the at-large general election on September 12, 2017.
Alarcon-Flory was also a 2016 Democratic candidate for District 6 of the Iowa House of Representatives.

Three of seven seats on the Sioux City Community School District school board in Iowa were up for at-large general election on September 12, 2017. One incumbent filed for re-election.[1] Incumbent Perla Alarcon-Flory and newcomers Ron Colling and Jeremy Saint defeated former candidate Shaun Broyhill and newcomer Miyuki Nelson in the race for the at-large seats.[2]

Elections for the Iowa House of Representatives took place in 2016. The primary election took place on June 7, 2016, and the general election was held on November 8, 2016. The candidate filing deadline was March 18, 2016. Incumbent Ron Jorgensen (R) did not seek re-election.

Alarcon-Flory sought election for a seat on the Sioux City Community school board. She was defeated by Shaun Broyhill, Paul Gorski, and Paul Speidel during the election on September 10, 2013.[7]
