Bond graduated from Carver High School, going on to receive an associate degree in business management from Southwest Tennessee Community College. Though retired, he has experience as a currency room teller for Brinks Corp., a realtor and a community college math paraprofessional.[1]

The city of Memphis, Tennessee, held elections for mayor and city council on October 8, 2015. A runoff, if necessary, would have taken place on November 19, 2015. The filing deadline for candidates who wished to run in this election was July 17, 2015.[2] In the District 6 race, incumbent Edmund Ford, Jr. defeated Perry L. Bond and Delvin Lane in the general election on October 8, 2015.[3]
