R. Mark Browning is a judge of the O'ahu First Circuit of Hawaii. He is also the Senior Judge of the O`ahu First Circuit Family Court in Hawaii. He was nominated to the first circuit seat by Gov. Linda Lingle and was approved by the Hawaii Senate.[1][2][3][4]

Education

Browning received his B.A in Asian Studies from the University of the South, and his J.D. from Northwestern School of Law at Lewis & Clark College.[3][5]

Career

Prior to his appointment to the First Circuit Court, Browning was a judge for the O`ahu First Circuit Family Court of Hawaii. He served in this position from 1997 to 2010. He was appointed Senior Judge of the O`ahu First Circuit Family Court by Chief Justice Mark Recktenwald in March 2011.[2][6]

Before becoming a judge, Browning was a partner with the law firm Shim Tam Kirimitsu Kitamura & Chang between 1988 and 1997. Prior to that he worked as a deputy prosecuting attorney for the City and County of Honolulu.[3][5]
