R. Timothy Peters was a judge of the Sixth Judicial Circuit Court in Florida. He was appointed to this position in 1995. He retired when his last term expired on January 5, 2015.[1][2]

Biography and Education

Peters was born in Memphis, Tenn. on December 28, 1946. After serving in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1968, he received his B.A. from the University of Florida in 1971. He continued on to receive his J.D. from the University of Florida College of Law in 1973.[1]

Career

Peters began his legal career in 1973 at the law firm of Goza, Hall & Peters where he was a shareholder and attorney until 1984. He then worked as a sole practitioner until his appointment to the circuit court in 1995.[1]
