Rachel Audi
Rachel Audi was a Republican candidate for District 47 of the Maryland House of Delegates.
Raised in Cheverly, Maryland, Audi attended Riverdale Baptist High School. She earned a B.A. from the University of Maryland at College Park, and M.A. from Regent University, and an M.P.A. from Harvard University.
Elections
2010
In the general election, she faced Democratic incumbents Jolene Ivey and Doyle Niemann and Democratic challenger Michael Summers. In the 4-way race, she came in fourth.
Audi ran unopposed in the Republican primary on September 14, 2010.

Audi's campaign website addresses five main issue areas:
Balancing the Maryland budget. Audi's positions:
- Fix the State’s growing $8 billion deficit
- Address $33 billion shortfall in pension plan
- Address upcoming $8.3 billion deficits over the next four year
Housing and Foreclosures.
- According to Audi's website, "Legislative District 47 has the highest foreclosures of the entire Washington Metro region...The State legislature with the help of Delegate Doyle Neimann passed legislation to prevent additional foreclosures and strengthen homeownership. More work is needed to raise awareness of homeowners’ and tenants’ choices in residential stability."
Empowerment for the Disadvantaged. In this area, Audi's recommendations include:
- Raise awareness of unjust inequalities
- Address crime, education, jobs, and housing
- Encourage collaboration among nonprofits, for-profits and government
- Promote affordable housing and prevent sprawl
Smart Growth. In this area, Audi recommends:
- Encourage mixed-use development & walkability to allow persons to live, work and engage in community in one place
- Provide incentives for restaurants and shops
- Grow smart near existing transportation infrastructure such as Metro stations
- Encourage transportation development based on growth plan
Education and Criminal Justice. Here, Audi recommends:
- Modify laws that ban ex-offenders from working
- Provide incentives for employers and mentors to encourage stable reentry
- Encourage local school districts to keep money in the classroom
- Promote incentives for parental involvement, mentoring, and teacher support
- Encourage programs for non-English speakers
