Rex Ricks was a 2012 Democratic candidate who sought election to the U.S. House to represent the 2nd Congressional District of Nevada. Ricks withdrew from the primary on April 1, 2012 citing personal and family matters leading to his reassessment of his ability to engage in the campaign.[1]

Ricks is a math and science teacher in Reno. He worked as an AmeriCorps volunteer during the inaugural year of the program. He also served as a volunteer during the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles.[2]

Ricks was running in the 2012 election for the U.S. House, representing Nevada's 2nd District. Ricks sought the nomination on the Democratic ticket.
