Richard G. Blane, II
Richard G. Blane, II is a former judge of District 5C of Iowa. He was appointed to this position in 1995.[1] He was retained in 2014.[2] Blane retired from the court in 2015 but stayed on as a senior judge for the Iowa Court of Appeals until July 31, 2024.[3]

Blane, II was retained to the District 5C Court with 71.6 percent of the vote on November 4, 2014. [2]
Education
Blane received his undergraduate and J.D. degrees from Drake University in 1970 and 1973, respectively.[1]
Career
Upon graduation from law school, Blane began his legal career as an assistant Polk County attorney. He then worked as a first assistant U.S. attorney for the Southern District of Iowa and as a private practice lawyer with a firm in Des Moines before his judicial appointment in 1995.[1]
