Pierce County voters' pamphlet

Bearden stated the following about his campaign in the Pierce County voters' pamphlet:

Pierce County Voters' Pamphlet.png
My wife and I have lived in Tacoma for over 30 years. Our daughters went to our local elementary, middle and high school where we made our home. My wife was privileged to work and volunteer at various elementary schools as a Para-educator where I was able to get firsthand knowledge of Tacoma’s School Board’s wasteful management of our tax dollars. With high rate of drop-outs and non-passing students in the District, where are our tax dollars going that we have paid for with all the school Levies and Bonds? Monies voted for “modernizing” our schools still have some without cooling, needing paint, outdated equipment to work with/or from. Still, we graduate children without the knowledge they require. Teachers are working with large amounts of children in their classrooms. They are “putting through" as many as they can with little information the kids can retain, but it’s not enough. We pay superintendents large pay-outs for resigning. We must get the leadership on the School Board that believes kids are #1 and do everything possible to educate our children to face their challenges. I can provide that type of leadership. Thank you.[2]
