Robert R. Makemson was a judge of the 19th Judicial Circuit Court in Florida. He joined the court in 1989. In 2008, he was re-elected to a term that ended on January 5, 2015. He retired at the expiration of his term.[1][2]

Education

Makemson received his bachelor's degree from the University of Florida in 1970 and his J.D. degree from Stetson College of Law in 1973.[1]

Career

Makemson began his career in 1973 as an assistant public defender for Broward County. He left that position to become a private practice lawyer in 1976. He then served as an assistant Martin County attorney from 1978 to 1980 before returning to the private practice of law. He worked in that capacity in Stuart, Florida, until he joined the circuit court in 1989.[1][3]
