Royce Taylor

Royce Taylor was a circuit court judge for the Sixteenth Circuit Court in Tennessee. Taylor served on the court from 1998 to 2020. He retired on March 2, 2020.[1][2][3][4][5]

General: He won without opposition in the general election on August 7, 2014.[3][6][4]
Education
Taylor received his undergraduate degree from the United States Naval Academy in 1966 and his J.D. degree from the University of Tennessee in 1975.[1]
Military service
Prior to law school, Taylor was on active duty in the U.S. Navy for six years, serving on the SEAL team and doing underwater demolition. He is also a former U.S. Naval Reserve captain.[1]
Career
Taylor worked as a sole practitioner in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, for 23 years before he became a judge for the Sixteenth Circuit Court in 1998.[1]
