S. Martin Teel, Jr., was a judge for the United States bankruptcy court, District of Columbia. He was appointed to the court on February 8, 1988, and retired in 2020.[1][2]

Education

Teel earned his B.A. from the University of Virginia and his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law.[1]

Career

After law school, Teel clerked for Judge Roger Robb of the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit. He then worked as an attorney in the tax division of the U.S. Department of Justice until his appointment to the bench in 1988.[1]
