San Antonio term limits, 2008
A San Antonio term limits proposition designed to relax existing term limits appeared on the city-wide ballot in Bexar County for voters in the city of San Antonio November 4, 2008 where it was approved.
San Antonio has term limits on its city council limiting city council members to two two-year terms. The November 2008 proposal, if it passes, will extend the number of years/terms that city council members can serve to four two-year terms.
San Antonio Mayor Phil Hardberger is a lead sponsor of the effort to relax term limits.

Opponents
Allan Parker of the Justice Foundation, based in San Antonio, is opposed to relaxing term limits in the city. He says the global financial crisis leads to voter anger at politicians which in turn leads to a continued desire to tighter controls on how long politicians can stay in office.[1]
