Sandy Karlan was a judge for the Eleventh Judicial Circuit Court in Florida. She served in the Family Division and the Unified Family Court/Complex Litigation Division.[1][2][3] Karlan was appointed to the court in 1995. She retired from the bench at the end of her term on January 5, 2015.[4]

Education

Karlan received her B.A. from the University of Miami and her J.D. from the Nova Southeastern University School of Law in 1978.[2]

Career

Before she became a judge, Karlan worked as an attorney in private practice for seventeen years with an emphasis on bankruptcy, family, commercial and travel law. She joined the Eleventh Judicial Circuit Court in 1995.[2][4]
