Anson ran for election to the Twenty-Second Judicial District.
Primary: He was defeated in the Republican primary on August 5, 2014, receiving 49.5 percent of the vote. He competed against Elizabeth Ensley Deiter. Only a 14-vote difference separated the candidates after the primary.
