March 30, 2022: Fifty-three percent (53%) of voters nationwide think it is time to end mask mandates on airlines. A Scott Rasmussen national survey found that 40% of voters are opposed.
Enthusiasm for ending airline mask mandates is especially high among those who fly more regularly. Seventy-two percent (72%) of regular flyers want the mandate lifted. Those who have not flown within the past three months are more evenly divided. Forty-eight percent (48%) favor ending airline mask mandates, and 45% are opposed.
Regular flyers were defined as those who have taken two or more trips in the past three months.
Methodology
The survey of 1,200 registered voters was conducted online by Scott Rasmussen on March 17-19, 2022. Fieldwork for the survey was conducted by RMG Research, Inc. Certain quotas were applied, and the sample was lightly weighted by geography, gender, age, race, education, internet usage, and political party to reasonably reflect the nation’s population of registered voters. Other variables were reviewed to ensure that the final sample is representative of that population.
The margin of sampling error for the full sample is +/- 2.8 percentage points.
