May 11, 2023: Forty-two percent (42%) of voters say big government and large corporations are both equally big threats to individual freedom and American society. A Scott Rasmussen national survey found that 33% say that big government is the larger threat, and 18% say that large corporations are.

The survey also found that 64% say it is better for America to have more people working for small businesses or being self-employed. Just 15% say that it is better for the country to have more people working for large corporations.

Methodology

The survey of 1,000 registered voters was conducted online by Scott Rasmussen on April 27-28, 2023. Field work for the survey was conducted by RMG Research, Inc. Certain quotas were applied, and the sample was lightly weighted by geography, gender, age, race, education, internet usage, and political party to reasonably reflect the nation’s population of registered voters. Other variables were reviewed to ensure that the final sample is representative of that population.

The margin of sampling error for the full sample is +/- 3.1 percentage points.
