November 15, 2021: When people enter the United States without legal permission, 68% of voters believe it leads to an increase in federal spending and deficits. A Scott Rasmussen national survey found that 14% disagree and 18% are not sure.[1]
Eighty-five percent (85%) of voters who prefer Trump-like policies believe immigration without legal permission leads to higher government spending and deficits. That view is shared by 74% of those who prefer traditional Republican policies, 60% of traditional Democrats, and 53% of Sanders’ Democrats.[1]
The survey also found that 60% of voters believe immigration without legal permission leads to increased crime.[1]
