February 26, 2018: The federal budget proposed by President Trump increases annual federal spending by $1.18 trillion between 2017 and 2023.[1]
In 2017, the most recently completed fiscal year, the federal government spent $3.98 trillion. The Trump budget envisions increases every year in the projection, peaking at $5.16 trillion in 2023.
Even after adjusting for inflation, annual federal spending is projected to grow by $511 billion.
