Sean M. Petersen is a judge of the Utah Fourth Judicial District. He assumed office in 2021.

He was appointed to the court on July 8, 2021 by Gov. Spencer Cox and confirmed by the Utah Senate on August 12, 2021 to replace Darold J. McDade.[1]
Biography
Petersen received his bachelor's degree from Brigham Young University and his J.D. from Willamette University. Directly prior to his appointment, he had served as court commissioner of Fourth District Court since 2018. Preceding that Petersen worked as a personal injury and criminal defense attorney at Howard, Lewis & Peterson.[1]
