Shannon Churchwell
Shannon Churchwell (Republican Party) ran for election to the Nevada State Assembly to represent District 34. She lost in the Republican primary on June 14, 2022.
Churchwell was also a 2016 Democratic candidate for District 5 of the Nevada State Assembly. She said of her bid for office: "I am running because I know that I have the ideas to turn Nevada's failing school system into a winning system for all children. I also believe that my plan to create an economic stimulus for Nevada will greatly reduce the unemployment rate."[1]
Biography
Churchwell is a notary public, real estate transaction coordinator, and licensed practical nurse. She graduated from the American Real Estate Academy in 2004. She also studied at the Milan Institute in Las Vegas as a nursing assistant and the Nevada School of Massage Therapy. Churchwell is a member of the Clark County Black Caucus.[1]

The candidate filing deadline was March 18, 2016. Incumbent Erv Nelson (R) resigned from the state Assembly on February 10, 2016. Kyle Stephens (R) was appointed to the seat on September 30, 2016.
