Jernigan received her undergraduate degree from Southern Methodist University and her J.D. from the University of Texas at Austin.[1]

Career

Jernigan began working with Haynes and Boone in their Dallas bankruptcy section. In 1997, she made partner, then later progressed to head the bankruptcy section. On May 12, 2006, she was appointed as a bankruptcy judge.[1] She was reappointed for a second 14-year term beginning May 12, 2020.[2]
