Career

Under former President Bill Clinton's administration, Stacey Rubin served in the White House Office of Legislative Affairs. Rubin helped to usher through Clinton nominees through the Senate.[1] Rubin spent seven years working for the Clinton administration.[1] The New York Times also listed Rubin as a donor to the Clinton Foundation.[2]

Rubin spent three years working at the U.S. Embassy in Lisbon, Portugal.[1] After working for the government, Rubin turned to political consulting. Since leaving the White House, Rubin has been the political consultant to Laurene Powell Jobs, the widow of Steve Jobs, founder of Apple Computers. Powell Jobs is a longtime supporter of Hillary Clinton, having contributed to Clinton's 2008 presidential bid and $25,000 to the Ready for Hillary for Clinton's 2016 run for president.[1][3]

In 2004, Rubin was the trip director for General Wesley Clark's 2004 presidential campaign.[4]

As of 2015, Rubin has been serving as the managing director of strategy at Emerson Collective, which was founded by Powell Jobs.[5] The collective seeks to foster innovation and self reliance through grants and investments in entrepreneurial ventures.[6] The organization supports immigration reform, which it states "enables the more than 11 million undocumented immigrants to earn legal status and citizenship [that] is essential to a healthy, vibrant democracy."[7]

Highlighting Rubin's ties to the Clintons and to Powell Jobs, Recode described Rubin as one of "the most Powerful Political Players in Silicon Valley."[1]
