As the son of WWII refugee immigrants, I deeply appreciate the American Dream’s promise. A 41-year legal career, including prosecutorial, business, and public service roles, has shaped my commitment to fairness, accountability, and justice. My experience spans the Hennepin County Attorney’s office, business leadership, and community service on boards like Brooklyn Park Human Rights and Planning Commissions,Three Rivers Park District and Osseo School District 279. Currently, I serve as a Hennepin County Conciliation Court Referee and Shingle Creek Watershed District Commissioner. My other professional activities include serving nearly 10 years as CEO of a small fraternal life insurance company, guest lecturer for Entrepreneurship classes at the University of Minnesota, guest speaker for Law Day activities in the schools and moot court coach for several high school teams. Beyond my professional life, I’m a proud husband to a retired educator and father to a University of St. Thomas graduate. My dedication to the Boy Scouts and my church reflects my belief in community involvement. Let’s work together to achieve the American Dream: success on your terms, compassion for others.
  • Restore Effective Governance; We deserve city leaders who treat each other with respect, listen to our concerns, and work together to find solutions. We need someone who will restore civility and decorum to our government. I will move beyond the unproductive arguments that hold us back and focus on building a brighter future for all. I have lived in Brooklyn Park 35 years. It has provided great opportunities for my family. I and love the city and all it has to offer. It is a hidden gem in the Metro Area.We deserve a government that functions with civility, respect, and a genuine desire to hear our voices. Rebuild trust by increasing transparency, accountability, and communication with residents.
  • Crime is a challeng to the whole community . We must attac to root, not just the branches causing crime. Poverty, lack of opportunity, and even mental health issues can push people towards crime. We must: 1. fund programs that steer people away from crime and offer hope and success; 2. build trust between police and residents by teaching conflict resolution, de-escelation and teamwork; 3. allocate resources effectively with data driven policing and smart strategies; and 4. revitalize our community and ensure everyone feels safe; 5 clean streets and greenspace fosters a sense of ownership and pride ;
  • Improve the transportation network Congestion and gaps in transportation coverage adversely affect quality of life and economic success. We must Prioritize public transit by expanding coverage, increasing frequency, and improving accessibility, Promote active mobility through bike lanes and pedestrian-friendly areas focus on mixed-use development and transit-oriented design. Sustainable solutions require creative funding strategies like public-private partnerships. By combining these approaches, we can create efficient, environmentally friendly, and accessible transportation systems.
At the city level, we must use our planning, public safety and development tools to transform Brooklyn Park into a vibrant, sustainable and inclusive community. Residents lead the way in shaping our future through mixed-use development, beautiful public spaces, and smart growth. We must protect our environment, support local businesses, and invest in job training. Residents need to feel safe in addition to being safe and all violence--youth violence, gun violence, domestic violence must be stopped.
Everyone deserves a chance to succeed. These practices will l bridge equity gaps, improve quality of life, address violence, and create a welcoming place for all. Together, we'll build a thriving Brooklyn Park.
