Wisconsin: A replacement for Judge Gary Langhoff, who is retiring on July 16, 2010, has been appointed. Attorney Angela Sutkiewicz was appointed to the Sheboygan County Circuit Court by Gov. Doyle on July 9, 2010. She will serve the remainder of Judge Langhoff's term, which ends in July of 2011, after which she must run for re-election to keep the position. Sutkiewicz was chosen from five other applicants. Regarding his nomination, Gov. Doyle said, "She is experienced, thoughtful and fair, and I expect her to be an outstanding addition to the judiciary."

Sutkiewicz received her law degree in 1986 from Marquette University. She has managed her own law office in Sheboygan since 1991. She has also worked briefly at the Walworth County District Attorney’s Office and as a special prosecutor in Sheboygan County. Past memberships include the Wisconsin Crime Victims Rights Board and the Democratic Parties of Wisconsin and Sheboygan County. Regarding her nomination, she stated, "I’ve been very involved in the community and the legal community, and I just really felt like I wanted to serve the people of Sheboygan in this position. … I think public protection is a priority.”[1]
