Thane Covert
Thane Bobbitt Covert was a judge of the Sixth Judicial Circuit Court in Florida. He was appointed to this position by former Governor Jeb Bush on December 16, 2005, effective January 3 of the following year.[1][2] Thane was re-elected without opposition in 2014, winning a six-year term that expired on January 4, 2021.[3][4]

Education
Covert received his B.A. degree from Eckerd College and his J.D. degree from Stetson University College of Law. Prior to his legal career, he worked for the Clearwater and Treasure Island police departments.[5]
Career
Covert began his career as a clerk for the State Attorney's Office during law school. In 1987, following his graduation, he began working full-time at that office. He continued to work as a prosecutor there until he joined the Sixth Circuit in January of 2006.[1]
