Theotis Bronson
Theotis Bronson was a judge for the Ninth Judicial Circuit Court in Florida. He was appointed to this position by former Governor Lawton Chiles on June 7, 1993 and took office in 1994, replacing retired Judge Emerson Thompson. His term expired on January 7, 2013.[1][2][3]
Education
Bronson was born in Orlando, FL on November 22, 1950. He received his A.A. degree from Seminole County Community College in 1971, his B.S. degree (in Psychology) from Rollins College in 1973 and his J.D. degree from the University of Florida College of Law in 1978. Prior to law school, he worked as a Juvenile Probation Counselor with the Florida Division of Youth Services (1973-75).[2][4]
Career
Bronson began his career in 1976 as a law clerk for the Dade County State Attorney's Office. He then worked as a staff attorney for Greater Orlando Area Legal Services, Inc. from 1978 to 1980. After that, he worked as an Assistant Public Defender. He became the chief of the felony division before joining the Orange County Court in 1986. In 1993, he was appointed to the circuit court, where he has since served in the Criminal (1994-99), Domestic (2000-02, 2006-10), Civil (2003-05) and Probate (2011) divisions.[2][4]
