Thomas G. Fisher
Thomas G. Fisher was a judge for the Tax Court in Indiana. He heared cases in Indianapolis, Allen, Jefferson, Lake, St. Joseph, Vanderburgh, and Vigo. Judge Fisher was appointed to the Indiana Tax Court by Governor Robert D. Orr on July 1, 1986.[1]
Fisher retired, effective on January 1, 2011.[2]
Education
In 1962 Judge Fisher attended Earlham College for his Bachelors Degree. In 1965 he earned his Bachelor of Law at the University School of Law at Bloomington and in 1968 he earned his J.D.[1]
Career
From September 6, 1967 to July 1, 1986 Fisher served as Jasper County's Prosecuting Attorney. For twenty-one years he had a private practice in Remington, Indiana.
In 1965 he began practice in the Indiana Supreme Court and the United States District Court for the Northern District of Indiana Four years later he was admitted to the Supreme Court of the United States.[1]
Community and personal life
Fisher is active in various professional and civic organizations. He has lectured in business law at Saint Joseph’s College. He is married and has one son, one daughter, and five grandchildren.
