Thomas Harmon, IV was a 2011 Republican candidate for District 2 of the Virginia State Senate.

Harmon attended Virginia Union University from 1965 to 1967. He then served in the U.S. Air Force from 1967 to 1971. In 1977, he earned his B.S. in Gerontology from Hampton University. He went on to study Gerontology at VA Commonwealth University. In 1980, he earned his MPA from Golden Gate University. He then received his Counseling and Mediation Training Certification in 1995.
