Michigan 14th Circuit Court


Timothy Hicks is a judge for the 14th Circuit Court in Muskegon County, Michigan.[1] Hicks joined the court in 1996 and was re-elected in 1998, 2004, 2010, and 2016.

Awards and associations

Hicks has served as the president of the Michigan Judges Association.[2]

Court of Appeals nomination

In March 2012, Governor Rick Snyder appointed two judges to the Michigan Court of Appeals. At the time, Hicks was one of four nominees being considered for the position.

He said, "I had a great experience through it. And I’ve been greatly moved, frankly, by the letters and the statements of support and the people who went to bat for me. And that means more than anything in the whole process."[2]

Michigan held general elections for local judicial offices on November 8, 2016. A primary election occurred on August 2, 2016. The candidate filing deadline for incumbents was March 21, and the deadline for non-incumbents was April 19.[3] Incumbent Timothy Hicks and incumbent William Marietti were unopposed in the 14th Circuit general election (2 open seats).[4]

2010

Hicks was re-elected (along with Judge William Marietti) in the general election on November 2, 2010. He received 51.59 percent of the vote.[5]
