W. Hunter Nowell is a judge of the Bolivar County Court in Mississippi. He was appointed by Governor Phil Bryant to replace Gwendolyn Thomas upon her retirement on April 30, 2014. Nowell was elected in 2014 to a term that expires in 2018.[1]

Education
Nowell received a bachelor's degree in finance from the University of Mississippi, going on to earn his J.D. there as well.[1]
Career
Prior to his judicial appointment in April 2014, Nowell practiced law with Povall & Jeffreys, P.A. in Cleveland. He also has experience as a public defender, having represented indigent criminal defendents.[1]
