Washington, D.C. Attorney General Selection (2010)
A charter amendment concerning the selection of the D.C. attorney general, Charter Amendment IV, was on the November 2, 2010 ballot. It was approved.
The charter amendment asked voters whether the district should make the attorney general position an elected post. Going into the election, the position was appointed by the mayor. The measure was designed to begin attorney general elections in 2014. Attorney General Karl A. Racine was the first to be elected to the position.[1]
