William Fuente was a judge of the 13th Judicial Circuit Court in Florida. He was appointed to this court by Gov. Lawton Chiles in 1997. He was retained in the August 24, 2010, primary election to a six-year term that ended on January 2, 2017.[1][2]

Education

Fuente received his B.A. degree in Biology from the University of South Florida in 1974 and his J.D. degree from the South Texas College of Law in 1976. He also served in the U.S. Navy from 1967 to 1971.[1][3]

Career

Fuente began his career in 1980 as an assistant state attorney, but left the position later that year. He then worked as a private practice lawyer from 1980 until he was appointed to the Hillsborough County Court in 1994. In 1997, he was elevated to the circuit court. He has also taught as an adjunct professor at Stetson University College of Law.[1][3]

2010 election

Fuente ran unopposed and was automatically retained to a new term.[2]
