William W. Barrett
William W. Barrett was a Utah Third Judicial District judge for the Salt Lake City District Court.[1] Barrett was appointed to this position in January 1996 and retired on November 1, 2012.[2][3]
Education
Barrett received his J.D. from the University of Utah College of Law in 1973.[2]
Career
He worked as assistant attorney general from 1973 to 1979. He then worked as associate and partner of Marsden Orton & Liljenquist from 1979 to 1984. He also worked as shareholder and treasurer of the firm of Kipp & Christian. Barrett was appointed to the Third District Court by Governor Michael O. Leavitt in January of 1996. He has served in that position until his retirement on November 1, 2012.[2]
