There was a Springfield School District Bond Proposition on the February 2 ballot in Greene County for voters in the Springfield school district.
This measure failed
The school superintendent stated that he was disappointed in the outcome, but felt it was more a sign of the bad economic times than people not thinking the school deserved or needed new buildings. Residents noted that they could not afford it, regardless of the need.[1]
This measure was also brought to voters at the November 2009 election, where it was also rejected. This bond proposed an amount of $65.8 to be issued over 37 years. The money from this bond would have gone towards school construction in the district. Income taxes would have increased by .25 cents and local property taxes would increase by .075 cents.
